Legacy Transportation Services is currently seeking a qualified Human Resources Generalist in Sparks, NV.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned.
Provides administrative support to one or more HR functions, including recruiting, employee/labor relations, compensation, benefits, worker’s comp, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, training, safety, EEOC, employee events and or employee records.
Assists with supporting HR Department applications, including recruiting and onboarding applications, payroll and time keeping applications, employment records, and vendor systems and compiles statistics for various HR Management Reports.
Supports department is recruiting efforts to include posting job ads, organizing resumes and job applications, scheduling interviews, pre-screening interviews, reference and background checking, conferring with management on lead candidates.
Responds to routine questions on HR policy and serves as a point person for newer employee questions.
Provides support to the HR Director on labor relations, health and worker’s compensation benefits, orientation, payroll, training, EEOC, projects and reporting.
Maintains knowledge of trends, practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in HR, talent management and employment law.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Adept in problem solving, identifying issues in a timely manner.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Must be able to communicate clearly, both written and orally, as to communicate with employees, members of HR, managers and in-group presentations/meetings.
Effectively read and interpret information and present numerical data in a resourceful manner.
Prioritize and plan work activities to use time effectively and be able to meet deadlines. Able to respond to matters quickly.
Organized, accurate, thorough and be able to monitor quality of work.
Dependable.
Able to follow instructions, respond to management directions and able to improve performance through management feedback.
Ability to maintain confidentiality be integral and professional.
Must be strong in Microsoft Office and proficient in utilizing online meeting resources such as Zoom, Teams, Google Meetings, as well as be adept at learning new HR and Talent management systems.
