In this role as a Senior HR Specialist, you will be part of a collaborative team that provides important support to LS&Co. employees for their benefits and LOA needs. You will report to Director of Benefits & LOA Operations. You will support the Director and Lead Specialist to deliver health and welfare programs and ensure leaves of absence are tracked and managed by the third-party administrator in accordance with federal and state mandated regulations and company policy. This is a US-based, remote-eligible role.
Responsibilities
Help with daily, weekly, and monthly benefit and leave processes.
Monitor compliance, employee eligibility, payroll coordination, and transaction processing for leaves including Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), short-term disability, long-term disability, workers compensation, military leave, personal leaves, paid parental bonding, paid family care leave, and Canadian leaves.
US & Canada Benefits and leave administration, including being the liaison between employees and vendors.
Evaluate and evolve internal processes to simplify and deliver an exceptional employee experience.
Audit employee records, ensuring accuracy in systems including making necessary updates.
Knowledge of benefit and leave compliance and regulations.
Identify root-causes for complex issues and partner with Lead to provide resolution.
Handle escalations from TPA, Managers and Employees, advising TPA on how to proceed.
Coordinate premium billing statements and reconciliations.
Review company and state eligibility to ensure employee LOA pay is accurate.
Requirements
3 or more years of Benefits and Leave experience.
Bachelors’ degree required, ideally in Human Resources or similar field.
Knowledge of FMLA, ADAA, CA-PDL, HIPAA and other state leave regulations.
Knowledge of State Insurance programs, such as SDI, Paid Family Leave Insurance in different states.
Knowledge of Workday and ServiceNow, or similar platforms is helpful.
Proficiency with Microsoft applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel (V-look Up, Mail Merge, Pivot Tables).
Ability to work as part of a virtual team and building relationships remotely.
Bilingual Spanish-speaking proficiency is helpful.
The expected starting salary range for this role is $66,000- $104,000. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range based on the location of the role. The amount a particular employee will earn within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, performance and business needs.
