Summary
Directs and coordinates activities of warehouse personnel concerned with documentation and routing of outgoing freight and verification of domestic and international freight. Overseeing of small package shipping and receiving of production parts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Develops and organizes traffic procedures according to company policy.
Evaluates and selects carriers, methods of transport, and suitable routes based on customer cost, support, and on-time delivery goals.
Negotiates freight rates with outside carrier base and maintains vendor relationships.
Prepares bills of lading and packing list documents for shipments. Responsible for paperwork transfer to shipping and ensures all labels are on units at time of shipping.
Prepares NAFTA, customs invoices, and other tariff documents for international shipments.
Monitors international shipments and understands container utilization and methods of packing.
Reviews, allocates, codes, and approves all freight invoices.
Manages all customer shipping issues, including claims for loss or damage, and reviews carrier insurance liability on an annual basis.
Coordinates workflow and objectives with Production Manager and subordinates
Studies production schedules, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping schedules.
Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
Determines space requirements and position of shipment in boxcars and trucks and lays out position of shipment.
Import/export compliance audits – review legal and accuracy of import/export/domestic documentation.
Populates shipping report for distribution to appropriate company personnel.
Directs movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas.
If needed, determines transportation method of purchased items from vendors.
Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
Determines space requirements and position of shipment in boxcars and trucks and lays out position of shipment.
Import/export compliance audits – review legal and accuracy of import/export/domestic documentation.

Driving forklift for loading and unloading trucks and moving machines to the shipping staging area.
Close out machine orders through data entry.
Fill out claim forms for damage or lost shipments.
Confirm RGA sticker’s match paperwork.
Help with small package shipments when they get backed-up.
Help with receiving when needed.
Prepare lumber inspection reports.
Prepare hazmat certificates.
