SUMMARY
Demonstrates Christ-like behavior and attitude in all areas of job responsibilities. Under general direction of the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Assistant assists with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions and duties. The Human Resources Assistant provides excellent care and services to the employees of the Los Angeles Mission overseeing all aspects of human resources administrative load including recruiting, onboarding and exiting processes, file management & records retention, training and professional development and employee relations. Conduct orientations, process forms, maintain files and records, produce reports, assist with department projects, and disseminate information and materials to all departments.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level HR staff or management.
Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
Provides clerical, administrative & scheduling support to the HR department.
Assists in recruitment effort for exempt and non-exempt personnel and helps coordinate the use of temporary employees.
Assists department in carrying out various human resources programs and procedures for all company employees, including employee communications, memos, posters and compliance documents.
Works with hiring managers to create position descriptions, maintain and update job descriptions for all employees, as needed.
Posts open positions with recruiters, job boards, internet sites and internal website; leverage online recruiting resources to identify and recruit the best candidates. Provides complete, accurate, and inspiring information to candidates about the company and position.
Reviews resumes and credentials for appropriateness of skills, experience and knowledge in relation to position requirements. Conducts screening interviews with qualified job candidates. Conduct preliminary phone interviews to qualify candidates and make recommendations to hiring managers.
Serves as the primary point of contact for recruits throughout the interviewing process (i.e. communicate status, answer questions, extend offers, schedule start dates, and coordinate all follow-up efforts.)
Maintains accurate and well-ordered documentation on all candidates, searches, hiring managers interactions, and other recruiting activities to ensure a safe and thorough audit if required. Requests background check for all hired personnel.
Conducts and coordinates onboarding processes and new-employee orientations including introduction to all staff. Safety, payroll and benefit training coordination and schedule. Arrange facility tour with Development Department and IT arrangements. Provide office supplies, welcome package and job description explanation and any other requirements for new employees.
Coordinates exit interviews and exit procedures as needed.
Conducts recruitment process, from job posting, candidate filtering, scheduling interviews, budget assistance, offer letter delivery and follow-ups.
Coordination and execution of onboarding process and exiting process.
Assists with the day-to-day efficient operation of the Human Resources Department.
Assist with coordination of organizational events, employee trainings, and scheduling efforts
Assist in employee safety, welfare, wellness and health.
Maintains absolute and strict confidentiality of all personnel data and records.
Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars as needed.
Participates in planning and production of employee-related events and activities.
Must be organized and efficient in daily tasks.
Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
