Matrix Research Inc. is seeking a Government Property Specialist to perform Contractor required activities illustrated in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) part 45 and 52.245-1. Primary duties will include, receiving property and updating property records, resolving unlocated property incidents, physical inventory and property closeout activities.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Asset Management
Assist Project Managers with effective management of Government property and IUID labeling requirements and registration
Identify Government Property by screening incoming and outgoing shipments
Update required information daily in eQuip! electronic property database
Organize, update, and file physical records
Prepare and affix asset tags to contractor acquired property
Locate specific items of property when necessary
Perform disposition and reporting of lost or destroyed property in Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment (PIEE) system
Prepare final inventory report at the end of contract period of performance
When needed, update Government Property Policy and procedures
Communicate with Government Property Administrator and Plant Clearance Office (PLCO) as required
Physical Inventory
Perform annual physical inventory of contractor and subcontractor Government owned property
Submit self-assessment and annual inventory to the DCMA
Update electronic property records during physical inventory
Perform post inventory review to determine inventory effectiveness
Coordinate inventory activities with staff members to avoid operational disruption and maximize inventory effectiveness
Update property records when new information is received from users, custodians, and project managers
Shipping & Receiving
Identifying and facilitating receipt of Government Furnished Property to appropriate program team
Assist Purchasing staff with receiving Contractor Acquired Property (CAP)
Prepare shipping documents (DD1149, hand receipts, etc.)
Assist project personnel when delivery of Government Property requires special handling or processing
Skills and Knowledge:
Exemplify the values of flexibility, respect, teamwork and excellence
Strong customer service skills
Must be highly skilled meeting deadlines and adjusting work capabilities to meet emerging business requirements
Required-Strong attention to details and organized
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
Knowledge of FAR, DFAR and government contracting
Knowledge of Microsoft software applications and other software applications as required, including Microsoft SharePoint
Must be able to type fluently
Strong ability to recognize difficulties, research, troubleshoot, and problem solve independently
Knowledge of Plant Clearance and Property Loss modules in PIEE system
Minimum Education and Experience:
High School diploma and 5-10 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, skills and experience
Additional Desired Skills:
National Property Management Association certification desired
Familiarity with property tracking software applications
Experience working within a Contracts Department
