We are looking for a high-performing Alignment Manager to work alongside McDonald’s team of Corporate HR Business Partners to drive an aligned and coordinated People agenda for the Global Functions. Reporting to the Senior Director, Center HR, this role will be responsible for interfacing with the Global People PMO and COEs to ensure that People initiatives and programs are aligned, integrated and sequenced to enable HR business partner success and add value to the business. This role will also interface with the US People team as needed to ensure cohesion of plans and programs for globalized functions with US market teams. This role will also support coordination and alignment for the Center HR team as well as take on ad-hoc projects to support the broader organization and HR Transformation.
Coordination and Alignment with the GP PMO and COEs
Bring the Global Function perspective to the table, including CenterHR scope of work, priorities and calendar, to support prioritization, coordination and sequencing of Global People initiatives
Represent CenterHR on the Global People Steerco to influence prioritization
In partnership with the GP PMO, lead coordination of monthly HRBP calls (in conjunction with US) to ensure timely communication and updates from COEs are provided to business HR partners
Provide guidance and consult to COE partners on effectiveness of products and programs to help meet the needs of Corporate Staff
Represent CenterHR in Staff Engagement conversations (broadly, not functional plans), including DEI initiatives, Working Futures, Remote Work, etc.
Work with aligned segment resources in Talent, DEI, Rewards and Learning to drive a coordinated and integrated approach for programs impacting Center HR and Corporate staff
Internal CenterHR alignment
Drive agenda for weekly CHR meetings, including finalizing agenda, coordination with guest speakers, pre-reads and follow up notes/actions are captured
Workload management
Tracking/portfolio management for CHR
Providing visibility across HRBP workstreams to eliminate duplication of work
Special projects – who is working on what, how much time is it taking, what are the project accountabilities (report backs, timelines, etc.)
Horizontal alignments and associated accountabilities
Follow up on action items from meetings, coordinate with appropriate COEs for updates and deliverables
Plan team engagement and community activities
Drive consistency of templates/resources for HRBPs to use in their functional conversations
As needed, represent, Sr. Director, Center HR, in meetings and other engagements
Organizational Coordination
Primary point of contact for CHR inbox and Service Center/Payroll/Etc.
Clean up resources and tools that are outdated/no longer useful
POC with the Comms teams as needed for announcement coordination
Continuous improvement/special projects
Continuous improvement mentality:
Find opportunities for improvement in HR processes and work with organizational partners to streamline and drive improvements.
Identify opportunities to better structure CHR team time (agendas, staff development, etc.) to meet goals of the team
Make recommendations about work to move to HR Operations as part of larger HR Transformation efforts.
Support special projects as needed on behalf of CHR (working with COEs and HR Operations)
Must be fully vaccinated (i.e., at least 2 weeks after last dose) for COVID-19 and, if hired, present proof of vaccination by start date.
5-7+ years of experience as an HR generalist with a strong working knowledge of the HR Business partner, COE and HR Operations operating model
3+ years of experience required, with an emphasis on program management, planning and alignment
Experience in this type of work at McDonald’s specifically is preferred but not required
Superior written, verbal, and interpersonal communication and presentation skills
Proficient in Microsoft Suite; especially PowerPoint, SmartSheet and Excel
Proven organizational and project management skills; ability to own a project plan and proactively execute against the plan
Previous experience managing and adapting quickly to a fast-paced environment in support of multiple work streams.
Ability to communicate effectively with a broad set of audiences (including across levels and geographies)
