Responsible for performing a variety of human resource support duties. Aids in the hiring and recruitment process. Assists in maintaining the human resource database and employee records and files. Handles payroll processing and tracks and reports payroll information. Completes assigned reporting functions involving attendance statistics, termination, hire, and transfer data, and other information assigned. Responsible for implementing and tracking employee performance appraisals. Helps administer changes to various benefits. Provides recommendations regarding the development and administration of human resource policies and programs. Assists in informing new employees of human resource policies and programs as needed.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists in overseeing of Human Resources policies and information
Oversees the human resource database.
Ensures system records are accurately recorded and cross-checked.
Assists in onboarding of new hires.
Ensures human resource files and records are maintained.
Updates employees’ personal information as requested.
Completes monthly and year-end reports regarding terminations, transfers, etc.
Completes miscellaneous research, reports, and memos as requested.
Computes and records payroll data as scheduled.
Maintains payroll records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Provides payroll information regarding merit increases to managers as requested.
Tracks and resolves payroll errors.
Completes payroll adjustments and corrections, as necessary.
Ensures payroll functions are performed in accordance with policies and procedures.
Receives and tracks employment applications.
Assists with questions and problems courteously and promptly.
Obtains and conveys information as needed.
Maintains and projects the Company’s professional reputation.
Schedules training events with outside vendors.
Assists in training new employees on Human Resources policies.
Supports department personnel as needed.
Coordinates with related departments as required. Answers questions and provides assistance.
Keeps management appropriately informed of area activities and any significant problems.
Ensures work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.
Types memos and letters as requested.
Stays well informed regarding human resources developments.
Performs miscellaneous clerical functions and special projects as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent.
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or equivalent experience preferred.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
Basic understanding of human resource functions.
Knowledge of HRIS. Paycom experience preferred.
Understanding of human resource reporting and recordkeeping requirements.
Well organized.
Attentive to detail.
Excellent communication and public relations abilities.
Strong typing and computer application skills.
Ability to assist and support others.
Able to operate telephone, PC, copier, and other basic business machines.
WORKING CONDITIONS
No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions (such as in a typical office).
In-state and/or out-of-state travel may be required.
Long duration of computer workstation usage.
