The City of Sioux Falls, SD Public Health Department invites applications for Mental Health Counselor.
JOB SUMMARY
The City of Sioux Falls Health Department- Falls Community Health is accepting applications for a mental health counselor. The counselor will provide crisis intervention and ongoing therapy for patients in a clinic setting at Falls Community Health. As a community health center, we provide affordable, quality, fully integrated health care. The counselor will be part of the behavioral health team as well as the primary care team, all working together to meet the needs of underserved communities. The ideal candidate is a motivated, mission-driven counselor who is looking to be part of a hard-working team that makes a social impact in the Sioux Falls community. This position is eligible for a hiring incentive of up to $4,000 and is an approved National Health Service Corps site for loan repayment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in social work, mental health counseling or other related field. Minimum two (2) years’ mental health experience in a clinical or hospital setting; or any such combination of education, experience, and training as may be acceptable to the hiring authority.
Must hold or have ability to obtain within 90 days of hire a valid state of South Dakota license as a professional counselor (LPC-MH) or a clinical social worker (LCSW-PIP).
Licensure as an addiction counselor is desirable.
