COST MANAGEMENT PRACTICE
Michael Baker International’s Cost Management group provides cost engineering and cost management services to clients in the federal, state and private sector markets. Our certified and credentialed cost engineers and cost estimators routinely support the planning, design and construction of domestic and international construction and environmental projects for the Department of State, Department of Defense, civilian federal agencies, and state/local municipalities. Our team is highly proficient with current, customer-preferred software, including MII®, PACES®, P6®, Sage Estimating®, and SUCCESS®.
DESCRIPTION
Under limited or direct supervision, The Sales/Marketing Specialist will provide marketing and general administrative support to the Cost Management group from our office located in Alexandria, VA. This position will require close coordination with department managers, project managers and technical staff. Specific job duties and requirements include:
Supports subcontractor coordination, including identifying appropriate teaming members, coordination of subcontracts, and tracking and approval of invoices.
Assists marketing and proposal staff with various efforts, including project writeups, editing of resumes, requirements matching, editing, quality assurance and quality control, technical writing and graphics support.
Assist with the coordination of professional organizations including sponsorships, information and attendance.
Update proposal tracking information system.
Assist project managers with contract preparation, including subconsultant agreements.
Assist with putting teams of subject matter experts together in support of various studies for the US Government.
Overall support of Cost Management staff on a variety of administrative and clerical tasks.
Coordinates and arranges meetings, reserves and prepares facilities, and records meetings and discussions. Establishes timelines and deadlines, prepares data requests, prepares forms, coordinates with sub-consultants, supports deliverables and client delivery.
Ability to work with numerous Cost Management staff from around the country.
Assists as necessary with editing, printing and assembly of deliverables, including quality assurance and quality control.
Analyzes business metrics such as profit loss, utilization, and project performance.
Organizes and maintains file system and files correspondence and other records.
May perform basic accounting duties, such as light receivables/payables and/or invoice approval preparation.
Other duties as assigned.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 4+ years of related experience.
You’ll need to have excellent communication skills for internal associates and external clients; have experience in general office support to include organization, filing, etc.
Ability to multi-task.
Creativity and the ability to think out of the box and present new ideas to team members.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing and presentation software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat).
Good interpersonal, communication and conceptual thinking skills.
Work independently and within a team setting to support a range of project and administrative assignments.
Ability to assist in developing strategic approaches and concepts.
Familiarity with reviewing solicitations (RFP, RFQ, RFI) to develop schedules and assignments.
Excellent English language skills, written and verbal, are essential to success in this role.
COMPENSATION
The salary range for this position is $56,886-$118,527. This will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate.
