Minnesota Lung Center (MLC) was established in 1974 to provide comprehensive specialty care for people with respiratory health needs.  All MLC physicians are certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Diseases and/or Critical Care.  Minnesota Sleep Institute (MSI) was established as a division of Minnesota Lung Center and is dedicated to advancing the field of sleep disorders medicine, and providing state of the art diagnostic and treatment services.  All MSI physicians are Board Certified in Sleep Medicine.  Each of our sleep centers is accredited through the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.  Minnesota Lung Center also has a Research division and a CPAP division.

We are an independent practice with 9 physicians, 6 advanced practice providers, registered nurses and respiratory therapists.  We have multiple locations and seek to have the following join our team:

Responsibilities  

• Interview patient and perform basic physical assessments to organize data for physician.
• Anticipate and initiate appropriate testing procedures for patient.
• Assist as needed with patients calling in with concerns and function at all times as patient advocate.
• Assist with prescription refill authorizations.
• Provide Nursing care in accordance with the mission, objectives, policies and procedures of the state Nurse Practice Act.
• Maintain the standards of nursing care as established.
• Participate in patient teaching.
• Participate in Quality Improvement activities.
• Use an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient’s needs and provide age specific treatment and care.

Qualifications:  
 

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing and currently licensed to practice in Minnesota as an RN.
• Basic current CPR Certification
• Acute pulmonary, cardiac care experience preferred
• Able to assess client’s needs, organize and prioritize activities, function with autonomy.
• Willing to withstand the mental stress and fast pace of the job requirements.
• Positive attitude and problem solving approach in keeping with the philosophy and mission of the organization and the department.
• NextGen computer experience a plus.
