SUMMARY: The Human Resource Specialist t will assist the Director of Human Resources and Risk Management with complex and specialized administrative tasks including reviewing job applications from prospective employees, managing and overseeing records, and generating reports. This role will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization’s human resource department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Maintains employee records, ensuring completion and accuracy of details such as employee contact information, job classification, pay rates, organizational structure, and other key details.
· Maintains accurate records of active job openings and received applications; manages internal and external job postings.
· Reviews applications for open positions; conducts and/or schedules preliminary interviews.
· Performs administrative and recordkeeping tasks related to staffing changes, which may include layoffs, resignations, terminations, and extended leaves of absence.
· Assists with the administration of employee benefits, which may include collecting and submitting employee information and notice of change in status to health, dental, life, disability, and other insurance carriers or insurance brokers.
· Assist in planning and supports company-wide information meetings such as open enrollment, new hire orientation, and meetings to announce or discuss changes in retirement or benefits plans.
· Conducts or assists with record audits and mandatory reports, which may include I-9 audits, EEO-1 filings, payroll audits, Benefit, PTO and other compliance reviews.
· Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to Director of Human Resources or other senior executive staff.
· Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
· Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
· Provides clerical support to the HR department.
· May assist with payroll functions including processing, answering employee questions, fixing processing errors, and distributing checks.
· Assist the Director of Human Resources as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors, which may include health, disability, and retirement plan providers.
· Conducts or assists with new hire orientation.
· Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
· Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree preferred and 1-3 years of Human Resources experience or equivalent
combination of education and experience.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Proficient on Microsoft Office 365.
· Strong interpersonal skills.
· Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
· Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.

Pay: $46,000.00 – $53,000.00 per year
