HIRING RANGE: $2,402-$3,202
STATUS: Full-Time position with full benefits
WORK SHIFT: Monday-Friday 8:30AM-5PM and every other weekend. *Hours may vary to meet department needs.

As a Cook I, you will prepare nutritious and attractive food in a sanitary manner to meet the individual needs and preferences of the people living and working at the Center. As well as preparing regular and therapeutic menu items (includes following standardized menu and recipes, measuring ingredients into mixing or cooking utensil, chopping and stirring foods, lifting pans into and out of oven, keeping current tally of types of foods needed including special slips. Maintain knowledge of therapeutic diet and consistency alteration requirements (includes reviewing diet manual and attending in-service training). Assure all foods are prepared and held within safe temperature ranges (includes placing thermometer into food or fluid, analyzing number registered on dial, documenting on record sheet, and heating or cooling further if necessary. Work in snack preparation area as scheduled (involves reading snack card, preparing designated items, maintain refrigerated and freezer items in safe temperature range, record changes and transfers and report to secretary for label changes, cleaning and sanitizing work area and utensils, stock ready-to-serve items). Maintain knowledge of and promote use of exact measuring and sanitary technique, as well as preserving nutrient content as outlined in state, federal, and department policy.
To be considered for this position, requires a high school diploma or GED and one year of similar food preparation experience.
