The successful candidate will teach a mix of undergraduate and graduate
courses, including a survey lecture course and seminars on topics related to Islam and to Middle Eastern and North African history.
This is a Faculty Fellow position with an initial appointment of one year, beginning September 2023. The position may be renewed for two
additional years, subject to budgetary and administrative approval.
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual
salary for this position is $60,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of
the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and
organizational considerations when extending an offer.
Qualifications
The successful candidate should have
a demonstrated record of teaching and research in history, Islamic Studies, religious studies, or other related fields. Candidates must have
completed a Ph.D. no earlier than five years before the date of appointment and have a strong commitment to teaching. The teaching load will
