DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
This position is currently located within the Department of Public Safety, but will transfer to the Department of Adult Correction when it is established on January 1, 2023.

Reporting to the Maintenance / Construction Supervisor III, this position performs at the journey level in areas associated with electrical installations, renovation, and repairs ensuring that assigned systems within an adult correction facility and support buildings are maintained in a safe and efficient manner. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.

Harnett Correctional Institution is located in Lillington, North Carolina and houses up to 988 male offenders in a medium custody facility.

To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following:
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of experience in the construction or repair of secondary electrical systems
Or
An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Based on the nature of work performed, may require appropriate licensure by the governing board or commission.
