JOB DESCRIPTION
The Intelligence and Threat Analyst (ITA) is responsible for gathering information and criminal intelligence, analyzing methods, crime patterns and trends, preparing intelligence reports, threat briefings and presentations, and providing analytical support to the NUPD. The ITA will support efforts to prevent, protect against, mitigate the effects of, respond to and recover from all-hazards, whether man-made or natural. The ITA will conduct analysis of multi-faceted data to assist in identifying and prioritizing risk and vulnerability for the global NU footprint. The ITA is responsible to stay up to date on current events, particularly those related to relevant subjects and regions where Northeastern has as a presence, and will provide analysis of those events.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining and updating databases and identifying analytical software that would assist the ITA in their daily duties. The ITA is expected to collaborate with contract vendors, global security operation center watch analysts, and other agencies to learn and share best practices in crime analysis. During known major events or times of crisis, the ITA will be assigned in the EOCC as intelligence support in real-time and will be expected to handle external communication with other agencies to gather and share information.
