Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Human Factors Engineer to join the System Test Team. This position is located in Vandenberg Space Force Base, CA and supports the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. This role will require candidate to utilize their experience to perform in a fast-paced work environment requiring a high degree of teamwork and communication across all levels. Candidate will be expected to solve problems, analyze test results, and drive tasks to completion.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
Job Qualifications:
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Bachelors of Science degree and 9 years of experience; 7 years with Master’s Degree; 4 years with PhD
Educational background in psychology, human factors, user experience, graphic design, industrial design, or HCI-related field
Demonstrated experience utilizing UI/UX design principles
Experience in Human Factors Engineering/Human Systems Integration with a specialization in software (UX, human computer interaction)
Ability to build software prototypes for usability testing of candidate designs
Demonstrated experience with Adobe visual design or prototyping tools including Adobe InDesign and XD
Active DoD Secret clearance investigated within the last 6 years, able to qualify for special program access
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Experience with industrial and mechanical design for evaluating ease of use and ergonomics in an industrial setting
Experience with visual design of computer user interfaces
Experience with Human Factors in a defense contracting environment (familiarity with Mil-Std-1472G and ANSI/HFES 100-2007), DoD UI/UX Design Experience
Familiarity with Human Factors modeling in NX/Jack, IMPRINT
Experience with Axure wireframing/prototyping software
Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
Experience on an Agile Software Development Team
Salary Range: $125,800 USD – $188,600 USD
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
