Basic Purpose
Responsible for formulating financial policy and plans and ensures maintenance of corporate liquidity and financial stability. Oversees activities related to managing the company’s funds, investments and relationships with financial institutions and regulators related to treasury matters. Directs activities associated with the security and investment of the organization’s financial assets and funds. Ensures that financial transactions, policies, and procedures meet the organization’s short- and long-term objectives, and regulatory requirements. Responsible for directing the company’s credit and risk management (excluding insurance) functions. Key success factors include relevant experience, strong analytics, and the delivery of insightful analysis.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develops financing plan as part of the budgeting and planning process including long-term financings, short-term debt, dividends, and capital contributions. Manages the Company’s capital structure to best meet Company’s earnings, cash flow, credit ratings and other financial targets.
Executes on approved long-term financings. Leads Company and external personnel through actions necessary to execute and close new financings, as well as refinancing existing debt.
Manages credit facilities and monitors opportunities to refinance and/or replace if economical.
Ensures daily liquidity sufficient for cash needs of business. Supervises treasury operations and processing of daily wire payments and receipts.
Responds to information needs of rating agencies either directly or through Berkshire Hathaway Energy personnel.
Directs staff in providing assistance in asset acquisition and asset disposition opportunities, including extensive financial analysis and modeling.
Assists with financial disclosure (10-K, 10-Q), tax related filings regarding pension and other post-retirement benefit plans and other employee related benefit plans.
Oversees forecasting and monthly variance analysis regarding cash sources and uses, debt balances, interest income and expense, capital structure and other financial metrics.
Ensures credit and risk management policies are implemented and that the credit and risk management function is performing pursuant to policies and company mandates.
Oversees compliance with mortgage covenants including bond application related to new long-term debt issuances, property releases and other actions.
Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal budgetary reporting requirements.
Manages, mentors and evaluates employees.
Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes and regulations applicable to position and company.
Monitors and enforces all compliance requirements for area of responsibility.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Essential Education, Skills, and Environment
Education and Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field from an accredited school with 6 years’ experience in finance or accounting position and 4 years of direct people management.
Candidates that do not possess a bachelor’s degree must have a minimum of 10 years of related work experience with a minimum of 6 years’ experience in finance or accounting position and 4 years of direct people management.

Compensation
Annual Salary: $126,700.00 (Min) to $149,000.00 (Mid); Up to 20% Short Term Incentive Plan target opportunity at the discretion of the company. This is a non-represented position.
