NVA Compassion-First Specialty & ER Hospitals, a family of veterinary hospitals working in partnership to advance medicine, empower growth, and provide the very best treatments available today is currently seeking a dynamic Human Resources Coordinator to assist with the HR functions in our Austin, TX location, Austin Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center. This position is based in Austin and will also provide HR support for our San Antonio location.

Responsible for performing Human Resource (HR) related activities and working closely with the HR Manager on initiatives that drive employee satisfaction, operational excellence and business performance. The Human Resource Coordinator provides assistance with, and facilitates the human resource process at the local level. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance and system entry.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
· Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
· Completes forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files.
· Submits online new employee background checks.
· Conducts audit of payroll, benefits or other HR program documentation and submission for assigned location.
· Assists with processing of employee change documentation and tools; new hires, life events, leaves of absences, terminations.
· Assists with recruitment and interview process.
· Responds to requests for verification of employment.
· Makes photocopies, mails, scans, and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions.
· Files documents into appropriate employee files.
· Assists or prepares correspondence as requested.
· Prepares new-employee files.
· Processes mail
· Perform other duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
· High School Diploma or equivalent.
· 2 years professional office environment experience.
· Previous bookkeeping or accounts payable/finance experience preferred.
· Previous HR experience a plus!
· Must be detail oriented, customer focused.
· Solid communication skills.
· The ability to practice a high level of confidentiality is required
