Years’ experience: Fifteen (15) years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five (5) of which must be in the DoD, OR Twenty (20) years of directly related experience with proper certifications as described in the Functionally Aligned Job Descriptions, eight (8) of which must be in the DoD. Tanker or transport aircraft aircrew or ground operations experience; Depot maintenance or system sustainment management experience at a military aircraft sustainment center/logistics complex; At least three years as a weapon system logistics manager or systems engineer for an ACAT Level I or II program, and; Experience with commercial derivative aircraft logistics processes, provisioning, and interactive electronic technical manuals.

Odyssey Systems has an exciting new opportunity for an Operational/Commercial Logistics SME, supporting the KC-46 Division (AFLCMC/WKC), Wright Patterson AFB, OH. AFLCMC/WKC directs the development, test, production, deployment, and sustainment of the KC-46 aircraft, support, and training systems.
Responsibilities:
Duties include, but not limited to:
- Apply depot maintenance or system sustainment management as well as operational experience to assist the Government with supply chain, equipment specialist management, support equipment, software sustainment/development, and back shop standup management.
- Apply commercial aircraft and operational knowledge to assist the Government with provisioning and logistics reassignment processes associated with FAA-approved parts and components. Advise and assist the Government with development of interactive electronic technical manuals.
- Apply knowledge and experience in acquisition logistics philosophy, policies, and procedures to Air Force systems, subsystems, and equipment procurement activities, post-award project/program management tasks, and acquisition programs throughout their life cycles. Knowledgeable in software development, sustainment, and depot avionics testing and repair.
- Assist the sustainment teams through data analysis, acquisition management, procurement, and other associated logistics data of critical assets, insurance spares, tooling, and related parts and material.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of Post Production Support Plans (PPSP), Post Production Transition Plans (PPTP), and Transition to Post Production (TPP) and shall develop and execute requirements in phased strategies for PPTP and TPP.
- Assist in planning, organizing, and managing critical aspects of the development, production, and/or deployment of capabilities utilizing DoD, USAF, and local logistics policies, procedures, and functionalities, and financial data requirements of acquisition logistics disciplines.
- Coordinate all logistics elements including but not limited to spares, Support Equipment (SE), training, facilities, technical data, and provisioning to ensure all integrated logistics support requirements for the program are identified and tailored to the directorate’s needs.
- Perform analyses of sustainment or related Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) issues and recommend suitable replacements.
- Provide support to accomplish the generation and review of logistics support documentation that includes the following: Integrated Logistics Support Plans (ILSP), Life Cycle Sustainment Plans (LCSP), Technical Orders (TOs), technical manuals, electronic technical manuals, illustrated parts breakdowns, and work specifications to ensure the documentation meets Government logistics support requirements.
- Assist in recommending program strategy, to include logistics impacts and to incorporate PBL and public-private partnering tenets where feasible; monitoring performance goals, parameters, and exit criteria; developing, advising, and assessing the performance of work done at the depot or Contractor locations and partnering agreements; assisting in the review of logistics support elements and other logistics related efforts.
- Support efforts regarding damage scenarios, recovery, rebuild and depot maintenance, production shutdown, risk mitigation, part configurations, and production asset disposition; addressing/resolving DMSMS issues, research parts availability, establish AT parts supply priority, and resolve Mission Impaired Capability Awaiting Parts (MICAP) situation; and identifying and monitoring mission partner support and field assessment requirements.
