This posting will be used to fill two (2) permanent, full-time positions. These positions are classified as Management Service and are not represented by a union.

What you will do!
BEHAVIORAL HEALTH: Senior Legislative Coordinator. This position will lead the coordination for all legislation that requires, facilitates, expands and transforms Behavioral Health policies, programs, and funding structures. It will oversee the legislative process for bills affecting Behavioral Health programs and their interests as well as those of internal and external groups impacted, involved, and influencing. This role will partner and strategize with the legislative coordinators agency-wide, including policy analysts in Government Relations, and other state agencies for purpose of aligning impact analyses, validating policy recommendations, and/or facilitating policy adoption/implementation.
May liaise with task forces, special advisory councils and committees to advance special legislation that impacts Oregon Health Authority (OHA) and other human services agencies. Takes lead to define, promote, and advise on policy parameters that assure an integrated approach to health care and health related services and supports, at a strategic and operational level and at a person-centered, person-directed level. Serve as a policy advisor to executive Behavioral Health leadership.
MEDICAID: Senior Legislative Coordinator. This position will lead the coordination for all legislation that requires, facilitates, expands and transforms Medicaid policies, programs, and funding structures. It will oversee the legislative process for bills affecting Medicaid programs and their interests as well as those of internal and external groups impacted, involved, and influencing. This role will partner and strategize with the legislative coordinators agency-wide, including policy analysts in Government Relations, and other state agencies for purpose of aligning impact analyses, validating policy recommendations, and/or facilitating policy adoption/implementation.

Required Attributes:
Experience in creating and maintaining a work environment that is respectful and accepting of diversity among team members and the people we serve.
Three years of experience performing public contact and/or customer service duties comparable to the work of a Public Service Representative.
At least two years of this experience must include dealing with the public in-person or by phone providing information about services and programs; explaining rules, programs, and procedures; and/or providing assistance, explaining requirements, and gaining compliance.
Preference may be given for experience providing service in an area of specialization specific to the position opening.
