We’re looking for a thoughtful and creative Human Resources Generalist (though we prefer the term People Operations Coordinator) to join our People Operations Team. Osborn Consulting, Inc. (OCI) is an employee-owned consulting firm providing civil engineering, landscape architecture, and urban design on public projects across Washington state. The power of these public projects surrounds our daily lives, from the sidewalks we stroll to visit our neighborhood park, to the relying on our city’s stormwater infrastructure to keep our homes safe from flooding in heavy rain. Our People Operations Team

OCI’s technical operations have grown rapidly over the past several years and our People Operations team needs to catch up. Role

Some examples of typical duties include:

• Assist People Operations Manager with recruiting by posting positions, scheduling interviews, reviewing resumes, attending job fairs, screening candidates, applicant tracking and communication with candidates and potential candidates.
• Facilitate new hire onboarding including managing documentation, paperwork, eVerify, orientation meetings with each department, leading benefit orientations, and collaborating with supervisors and Practice Leads for a smooth onboarding experience.
• Develop and foster authentic trust and professional relationships with coworkers.
• Assist coworkers with benefit enrollment, as well as answering benefit-related questions, and helping employees make changes to their benefits
• Provide support, counseling, and coaching to coworkers and supervisors regarding basic job-related conflicts, problem solving, and dispute resolution.
• Collaborate with teammates to develop solutions and programs that increase employee engagement.
• Adopt Osborn’s casual, person-centric “voice” and communication style to draft and design our people-related communications (benefits, emails, handbook, policies etc.).
• Manage personnel files ensuring documents are kept current, accurate, confidential, and in compliance with all applicable laws and company policies.
• Maintain an inviting office presence through creative and engaging events and amenities.
• Collaborate with teammates on strategic planning initiatives.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To thrive in this position, you should have the following:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
• 2+ years of Human Resources experience
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal communication, ability to present information clearly and engagingly in front of large groups
• Proficiency in Microsoft365 Office Suite, and SharePoint.
