Summary

OXMAN is seeking a Senior Recruiter to join an all-star interdisciplinary team of deep thinkers and brilliant makers. We are currently building our future offices with a design atelier, wet lab, and production workshop, estimated to open in Fall 2023. The 36,000-square-foot facility will be used for a novel research and design practice that seeks to foster systemic changes in the built environment by radically realigning methods of design and production with the natural world.

The Senior Recruiter will be responsible for staffing our future office with industry-leading scientists, engineers, and designers. They will be responsible for developing and implementing recruiting and sourcing strategies to identify the best talent, expand our maker teams and deliver great experiences for candidates and hiring managers. They will be responsible for all stages of recruiting from partnering with teams to identify hiring needs, through onboarding new hires.

The Senior Recruiter should be able to operate in a highly multidisciplinary environment and broadly identify talent across technical and design fields such as biology, materials science, ecology, software engineering, hardware engineering, data science, architecture, and design.

Core responsibilities

• Proactively source, screen, and assess candidates through various channels, including online job boards, social media, professional networks, and industry events
• Manage all stages of the candidate pipeline through our applicant tracking system (Lever) and external sourcing tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter and other outside-the-box strategies
• Manage and enhance relationships with external recruitment agencies and vendors as needed
• Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the entire recruitment process, providing timely updates and feedback
• Collaborate with hiring managers to understand position requirements, qualifications, and organizational needs; streamline onboarding processes; and ensure a smooth transition for new hires
• Analyze recruiting data to share regular recruiting reports, form trend insights, and optimize talent strategy
• Specialize in recruiting for science, engineering, and design roles; support business and operational hiring as needed
• Support other Human Resources projects such as compensation strategy, organizational design, and talent management as needed (up to 20%)

Qualifications & competencies

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field
• 3+ years experience as a life sciences recruiter, with a proven track record of hiring scientists, engineers, and other multidisciplinary team members
• Strong understanding of technical skills, qualifications, and industry-specific requirements within the targeted fields
• Excellent knowledge of recruitment best practices, including sourcing techniques, candidate assessment methods, and interview strategies
• Proficiency in using applicant tracking systems (ATS), recruitment software, and other relevant HR tools
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels
• Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and efficiency throughout the recruitment process
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple recruitment projects simultaneously
• Proactive mindset with a continuous improvement mentality, always seeking ways to enhance recruitment practices and candidate experience

NYC Pay Range: $68,000-$125,000

Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
