Page Street Publishing Co., distributed by Macmillan, is looking for a bright and fast entry-level design assistant to join our growing design team. The right candidate will work across our non-fiction and young adult lists to enter editorial changes, create book dummies, generate catalog jpgs and pdfs, and package files.
Must be proficient in InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. A Photoshop expert is a big plus. Speed, accuracy, and an eye for detail is the main priority. We strongly encourage BIPOC and other self-identifying members of groups underrepresented in publishing to apply.
The salary is $33,000 annually, with yearly reviews. Advancement within the design department is possible. Benefits include 80% of healthcare policy coverage and a healthy personal time off policy. Candidates may be remote (ideally in the Eastern time zone) with possible hybrid work schedule.
Page Street Publishing Co. publishes around one hundred forty original titles a year and is distributed by Macmillan everywhere except Canada, where Manda does the sales and UTP handles the distribution. Each year we try to help local environmental causes, and last year we donated nearly 10% of our profits to the Trustees of the Reservation and Greenbelt. We use only sustainable paper vendors and print with environmentally-friendly, soy-based ink. Page Street Publishing Co. was founded in 2012 and is located in Salem, Massachusetts.
