The Receptionist for Human Resources is responsible for providing information and assistance to employees, job applicants and other customers and providing confidential administrative support to the Department of Human Resources.
The position requires the ability to prepare, maintain, disseminate, and retrieve confidential information in a fast-paced environment. The Receptionist must also be knowledgeable of and comply with federal and state employment regulations, in addition to Parkland bargaining agreements. Common interactions include students, faculty, staff, administration, and outside agencies.
Essential Job Functions
Handle inquiries (walk-in, phone, and email) from students, faculty, staff, administrators, and outside agencies that come into the Human Resource office.
Must uphold the strictest standards of confidentiality as it relates to personnel actions and activities occurring in Human Resources.
Assist Human Resources team with research projects and special projects.
Provide a welcoming front reception area.
Act as backup to HR Administrative Assistant as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirement
High School Diploma or equivalent. An Associate Degree in Business Administration or a related field is preferred.
Approximately 2 – 4 years of prior experience in an office environment, especially in a human resources department, is preferred.
Must successfully complete a criminal background check with fingerprinting.
Strong initiative and ability to work independently, as well as part of a team with excellent customer service skills.
Excellent interpersonal communication and time management skills; ability to be flexible and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
Accomplished problem solving skills, trouble shooting skills and detail oriented.
Ability to handle confidential materials judiciously.
Proficiency in current Microsoft Office applications.
