General Description
Plans and schedules work and processes according to standards to improve efficiency, quality and productivity in work.
Essential Functions
Administers work orders and requests for service by receiving orders and requests; prioritizing work according to urgency and resource requirements and completing appropriate order and request documentation.
Oversees job requests by reviewing and analyzing job requests; researching past requests; investigating and viewing work sites; developing cost estimates and identifying staffing requirements.
Coordinates work activities by scheduling appropriate approvals and necessary permits; coordinating with internal departments and external entities and vendors and dispatching work and assignments to Facilities Technician supervisors.
Monitors and sustains work progress by tracking workflow and crew progress; verifying availability of parts and equipment; ensuring mandated inspections are scheduled and completed and rescheduling work and related activities due to down-time, emergencies and other unforeseen circumstances.
Maintains records and files for reporting and analysis by preserving records and databases of work scheduled and completed; following-up to verify completion of work and related activities and analyzing actual costs for staff and equipment for use in future planning efforts.
May provide training services by developing and presenting training on job-related activities including, but not limited to, equipment safety, technical issues, asset management software, mobile devices, and other systems.
Establishes short and long range plans to develop a balanced strategy to maintain City of Tucson assets and facilities by analyzing resources and both historical and current work order data.
Determines resource requirements by establishing the required crew size and resources necessary for the completion of the task, estimating and/or applying available benchmarks and determining the need for extra travel or preparation for completion of the task.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Education Level & Type: High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Minimum Experience Qualifications: At least 3 years planning and scheduling work processes, using Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) systems or associate software computer systems.
*Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be evaluated on the education and work experience in their employment profile and the responses to their supplemental questions. The highest scoring applicants will then be invited to participate in a panel board interview.
Panel board interviews will be held Friday, December 15th, 2023.
Upon completion of all examination processes, the highest scoring applicants will be placed on an Eligibility List. An applicant’s ranking on the list will be based on their final score which will be calculated as:
This recruitment will establish a civil service list that will be utilized to fill vacancies occurring within the next 6 months. The highest scoring candidates placed on the Civil Service Employment List may be invited to participate in a selection interview.
Selection interviews may be conducted.
Veteran, Native American, or Disability preference points will be added to the achieved score for those that are placed on the Civil Service Employment List.
