Plastipak Holdings Hiring for Human Resources Manager at Bondville, Illinois Full Time

Position Description:

The Human Resources Manager has the responsibility and authority for supporting core business practices through the identification and development of human capital (training, development, staffing, process integrity, and employer brand management.) This function will lead change efforts and evolve the organizational culture by implementing, enhancing, and strengthening systems.

Responsibilities:

• Develops and implements strategic plans to assist in achieving business unit objectives.
• Creates, develops and directs training activities (technical, interpersonal, leadership) for the site.
• Directs the recruiting, interviewing and selection of employees to fill vacant positions.
• Contracts with outside vendors for temporary staffing as needed.
• Prepares reports and recommends procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover.
• Manages the performance evaluation process.
• Assists site management in succession planning activities.
• Directs and monitors the work flow and daily work functions of the department
• Actively participates in individual team member’s development, engagement and training requirements.
• Manages the administration and retention of all human resource records including benefits, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, I-9’s, etc. in both hard copy and electronic form. 
• Prepares site Human Resource budget.
• Maintains employment and staffing records to assist in wage and salary tracking, staffing, budget guidelines.
• Conducts or analyzes wage surveys within labor market to determine competitive wage structure.
• Conducts investigations and resolves employee relations matters timely.
• Manages and complies with Workers Compensation, FMLA, LOA and ADAAA matters.
• Represents site at personnel related hearings and investigations.
• Advises leadership on the hiring and termination of employees in accordance with employment laws and company policy, as well as performing the direct contact for same.
• Directs the administration of payroll, leaves of absence, vacations, etc.
• Directs the administration of training processes within the site.
• Follows and enforces company and local work rules, safety rules and policies, and company standards and activities.
• Other job related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and/or equivalent business discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in human resources.
• Preferably experienced within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Team-oriented.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated.
• Proficient in computers and exposure to Excel, Word, & HR IT programs
