Duties/Responsibilities:
- Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute Powers’ human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, and retention.
- Provides support and guidance to management and other staff when questions and issues arise.
- Manages the talent acquisition process using ATS software (Bamboo HR), collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Manage benefit programs including relationships with insurance providers, brokers, and open enrollment.
- Leave Management: STD, LTD, FMLA, and other applicable leaves
- Coordinates with management to create learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
- Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
- A minimum of three years of human resource experience with benefits management, leave tracking, onboarding, recruitment, and employment law.
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is a plus but not required for candidates with a requisite level of experience.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP highly desired.
