The Compensation Analyst is responsible for ProMedica Health System business unit compensation administration including job evaluation, pay range development, annual increase administration, and market analysis and salary survey submissions. Performs other projects in support of HR goals and initiatives as requested.
Accountabilities
Maintain a database of compensation surveys and submit data to survey providers on an annual basis.
Perform internal and external equity analysis; make associated pay recommendations.
Evaluate positions upon request and as part of reorganizations/consolidations.
Prepare reports, documents, mailings, etc. to support day-to-day administration of step-in grade pay increases.
Evaluate exemption status of positions with occasional assistance from legal counsel; may assist with FLSA training or Wage and Hour investigations.
Recommend annual pay guidelines, pay scale adjustments and develop new pay scales.
Perform a variety of compensation-related projects in support or reorganization activities, changes in compensation programs, mergers and acquisitions, etc.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proven Microsoft Excel background/skills
Preferred Qualification
Skills: Large company experience, particularly in an organization with multiple business units
Years of Experience:
2+ years compensation experience and/or experience within an HR discipline
Knowledge of HR Information Systems
Additional Experience
Strong mathematical skills and Microsoft Excel proficiency
Ability to learn FLSA regulations and HRIS software
Ability to comprehend complex quantitative information that is confidential in nature and exercise necessary discretion
Ability to understand directions, communicate and respond to inquiries; excellent interpersonal skills required
