Here’s what you’ll do:

• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, payment terms, confidentiality agreements, master purchase agreements, changes in process, terms, engineering requirements, and other items as required with suppliers.
• Detailed quotation analysis and negotiation for all cost drivers.
• Support the launch of new programs, including tracking prototype/trial materials.
• Evaluate new supplier performance and information and approve requisitions and monitor invoicing for variances and suppliers’ performance
• Support preparation of annual budget plans for each location and all assigned components and suppliers
• Initial preparation and issuance of Request for Quotations (RFQs) for a wide range of commodities
• Process modifications to terms and conditions of purchase agreements
• Perform commercial analysis on suppliers to develop more efficient processes and cost-effective solutions

Required Skills and Abilities:

• Effective written and verbal communication skills for internal and external contacts.
• Ability to analyze manufacturing processes and blueprints, and capable of analyzing quotations, developing budgets, and understanding cost impact
• Experience in the automotive industry with an understanding of standard job functions and requirements within the industry (preferred)
• Prior purchasing experience in the manufacturing or industrial setting is preferred.

Education/Training/Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree (preferred) in Engineering, Engineering Technology, other Applied Science, or Purchasing supply chain management is preferred. (Bachelor’s degree in Business or other non-technical area is acceptable based on proven technical skill.)
