The ADFS will share responsibility with the relevant supporting fraternity/sorority
organizations for the living, meeting, and programming spaces, and will partner with Institute offices to oversee the health and safety
initiatives for both on/off campus properties. The ADFS will support specific organizations and provide advisement on issues unique to the
Fraternity and Sorority community. The ADFS works with organization student and alumni leaders to create and sustain developmentally rich
programs, and address matters related to risk and liability management. In doing so, the incumbent will work with various internal and
external constituents to enhance the quality of the fraternity and sorority experience and institutionalize a personal and organizational
development model consistent with CLASS. The ADFS participates in the on-call duty rotation.
This is a live-in position with
Rensselaer provided housing.
Candidates will have a Master’s Degree in student personnel, higher education administration, or
related area, along with two (2) or more years of experience in a closely related position in Student Affairs with preference for experience
directly working with Fraternity and Sorority Life organizations.
The ideal candidate will have the demonstrated ability to
advise and counsel students, and to respond appropriately to student concerns and manage student issues. Candidates are expected to have the
ability to remain unbiased and impartial in dealing with fraternity and sorority issues. Candidates will have knowledge and understanding of
Fraternity and Sorority systems, national and regional trends, policies, procedures, governance, organizational development and recruitment
processes. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required. A relevant combination of education, training and directly
related experience may be substituted for the Masters degree.
Rensselaer welcomes undergraduate and graduate students to campus for an
in-person academic experience. To support this experience, all faculty and staff are expected to work primarily onsite. Rensselaer requires
all faculty and staff to be vaccinated (and boosted when eligible) against COVID-19. Requests for exemptions for medical or religious
