This position is responsible for supporting all functional areas of the HR Department including recruiting, onboarding and orientation, HRIS administration, employee engagement, performance management, benefit administration, payroll, HR compliance, and leave management. This role is fundamental for ensuring responsive and value-added service to all employees while supporting the overall company culture and department goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
Completes all payroll transactional tasks such as processing rate changes, scheduled earnings, benefit deductions, incentive eligibility, and manual payroll actions.
Responsible for the timely completion of processing the bi-weekly payroll.
Time and Attendance champion; maintains the time and attendance system for paid and unpaid time off, oversees the attendance point system, shift schedules, etc. Main point of contact for timecard approvers.
HRIS champion; maintains and updates information such as, PTO accruals, employee data changes, onboarding and offboarding checklists, performance reviews, and other various areas within the HRIS system. Develops and implements new efficiency processes with HRIS tools.
Coordinates and completes all aspects of hourly recruiting including job postings, sourcing recruitment methods, scheduling and interviewing candidates, and presenting employment offers.
Coordinates and completes all aspects of the pre-employment and onboarding process for new hires, including facilitating new hire orientation.
Coordinates and facilitates new hire benefit orientation and enrollments along with 401k education for newly eligible employees.
Stewards the Culture Committee which is responsible for employee events, external functions, engagement, and feedback.
Prepares FMLA paperwork for employees and monitors deadlines. Submits the completed paperwork to the HR Manager for approval. Assists in other non-FMLA leave of absences.
Company liaison with staffing agencies and other vendor services.
Responsible for executing the service anniversary program.
Completes other various tasks such as filing, creating and maintaining personnel files, calendar trackers, updating the communication center, completing employment verifications, and unemployment responses.
Assists with short term disability and workers compensation claims.
Assists with the performance review process.
Assists with all legal compliance surveys, filings, posters, and tasks.
Assists and/or respond to employee questions or concerns; escalates concerns to the HR Manager or the appropriate department manager.
Works in collaboration with Human Resources Manager to implement and administer HR projects, support company culture change, and execute annual HR initiatives.
Qualifications Include:
Ability to work fully on-site. Remote work is not available.
Bachelor’s Degree with major in Human Resources or Business-related field is strongly preferred.
SHRM-CP or PHR is preferred.
3+ years of human resources generalist experience is required, 3+ years in manufacture is strongly desired. Experience should include recruiting, employee relations, regulatory compliance, benefit administration and employee engagement.
3+ years of HRIS and ATS experience, Paycom experience is a plus.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule at times when HR support is needed on an off-shift.
Strong understanding of U.S. employment laws and practices.
Strong problem-solving and conflict management skills.
Ability to handle highly confidential and sensitive information.
Must possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills to interact within all levels of the organization.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Ability to effectively work and create effective partnerships with employees at all levels of the organization.
Highly organized and able to multitask.
