Work alongside Recruitment Specialist to build up supports and services in the community specifically for the needs of foster parents and foster children. Assist in the recruitment of foster parents by getting the word out throughout a variety of forums in the community.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Visit daycares and after school programs to discuss the needs of children in foster care and find openings, partner with organizations to plan respite evenings, in person support events etc.
Work in conjunction with recruitment in spreading the need for foster parents throughout a variety of forums in the community.
Focus on building the relationship with local business and host lunch and learns as appropriate.
Establish relationships with community and faith-based groups and facilitate the identification, networking, solicitation, and development of community collaborations to provide supports for foster parents.
Attends meetings held at churches, clubs and other public forums to educate the community on the need for foster care for enhanced recruitment engagement.
Possess knowledge of various community groups and networks.
Ability to effectively engage faith-based groups across denominational and religious lines.
As assigned or requested attends/support Foster/ Adoptive Parents Association (FAPA) events and meetings.
Responsible for charts creation, presentation materials, data-entry, copying, record keeping and file management as assigned.
Serve as the media point of contact for foster care issues that relate to recruitment of resource families. Conduct on camera and print interviews with accuracy and professionalism.
Create messaging/storytelling materials that adhere to SCC brand standards to promote our need for foster care resources and families that will be distributed to the public through various communications including social media, television and radio.
Create and maintain the information presented on the Safe Children Coalition website foster parenting page and overall representation of foster parenting on the website.
Maintain accurate records of recruitment efforts and inquiries and report out to appropriate agency or department.
Create interesting and engaging social media posts and events on our Safe Children Coalition Facebook page. Continually monitor Facebook page for appropriate posts or comments and respond to comments and messages.
Help in the planning of events for foster parents including trainings, respite night outs, the foster family holiday party and foster parent appreciation events.
LIST OTHER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Possesses a Florida driver’s license and meets the authorized driver qualifications as set forth by the Association and its insurance carrier.
Will be required to have flexibility during the daily schedule to provide maximum service delivery to churches and community organizations.
Extended hours to include evening hours and weekends as needed to complete job duties.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors Degree in social work related field or communications related field required. 2 years experience preferred.
