Accounting Position for a well known church in Clemson, SC!
Must have prior experience in Administration and or Accounting (within a non-profit organization preferred)
Working hours are:
– Monday through Thursday: 9am-5pm and Friday: 9am-12pm
Summary of Position
Responsible for finance, personnel, and facility usage administration. The position requires attention to detail, flexibility, and an ability to deal with the unexpected.

Responsibilities
1. Financial Administration
a. Administers finances of the Parish
i. Reconciles Accounts (Checking and investment)
ii. Prepares reports for the Finance and Vestry meetings monthly
iii. Posts and prepares deposits.
iv. Files insurance claims
v. Process and reconcile payroll for church staff
b. Keep the parish and day school financial records and current in accordance with the Manual of Business Methods in Church Affairs.
c. Maintain pledge contributions and electronically send out statements on a quarterly basis.
d. Prepare any and all financial reports for ministry groups, finance committee, vestry meetings, and the diocese, as required.
e. Provide timely budget information to committee chairs, clergy, and staff.
f. Maintain fund accounting, routing income and expenses as directed by Treasurer and Vestry.
g. Understand and use financial software, evaluate needs, and recommend changes as needed.
h. Assist in developing the annual budget and input budget in database.
i. Work closely with and meet regularly with the parish treasurer to assess and report financial status and needs of the parish.
j. Attend meetings of the finance committee
k. Administers finances of the Church’s Day School
i. Reconciles Accounts (Checking and investment)
ii. Prepares reports for the EDS Board meetings monthly
iii. Posts and prepares deposits.
iv. Files insurance claims.
v. Process and reconcile payroll for day school staff.
vi. Prepares invoices and tracks accounts receivable.
2. Personnel Administration
a. Maintains personnel records files for each employee.
b. Administers insurance programs for health, vision, dental, life, and long-term disability in coordination with the diocesan office.
c. Administers pension and retirement plan contributions of church employees.
d. Assists employees with insurance claims and other questions regarding benefits.
e. Assists the Rector and Vestry with personnel matters.
3. Facilities Use Administration
a. Provides for and supervises all repair persons or contractors needed for maintenance of the physical plant.
b. Works with Junior Warden and Finance Committee to coordinate building expenditures.
c. Assists capital fund committees and oversees all capital projects.
d. Responds to building emergencies.
e. Maintains church property security and provides for any other security measures as needed.
f. Provides and maintains key tracking system.
4. General Office Administration
a. Assists the Rector as requested.
b. Assists parish secretary as needed.
c. Participates in weekly staff meeting.
d. Maintains parish membership and other records.
e. Prepares and submits annual parochial report.
f. Works with volunteers as they relate to office and to buildings and grounds.
g. Assists all persons having financial business with the church.

6. Specific Qualifications, Education, and Training
a. Training in business administration or equivalent experience.
b. Knowledge of fund account principles
c. Word-processing skills.
d. Experience with QuickBooks and ChurchWindows preferred.
