Operates a municipal scale to weigh refuse-carrying vehicles at a refuse disposal site or transfer station; issues certificates of measure; prepares, processes and maintains records; and performs other related duties as required.
Current Vacancy:
There is one vacancy with the Department of Environmental Services, Refuse Division. Under the supervision of the Waste Diversion Supervisor, performs the following duties of weight measurement tasks for account and billing purposes at a municipal refuse transfer station. Adhere to applicable safety practices, rules, and procedures, and performs all duties in a safe and acceptable manner to ensure the safety of self, co-workers, and the general public.
Special Work Requirements: Working in the area of moving trucks. Possible exposure to heavy atmosphere of fine dust. Will serve as Disaster Response Worker during declared civil defense emergencies.
