As a Logistics Assistant, you’ll play a crucial role in our Logistics Department, supporting shipping and receiving operations. Under the general supervision of the Logistics Manager, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to the success of the company and share in the benefits of our employee ownership structure. Key Responsibilities: Unload and Load: Efficiently handle materials by unloading and loading trucks using forklifts or other material handling equipment. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate record-keeping systems, marking boxes with part numbers and job names. Order Processing: Read work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or shipped. Paperwork: Prepare shipping paperwork as needed, ensuring accurate documentation of all shipments. Inventory Management: Assist in counting physical inventory and organizing the warehouse for optimal orderliness. Quality Checks: Examine shipment contents and compare with records to ensure accuracy. Documentation: Prepare documents such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders to route materials. Packing and Labeling: Pack, seal, or label materials using hand tools or power tools to prepare for shipping. Communication: Collaborate with internal representatives to coordinate shipping and delivery instructions. Qualifications & Requirements: Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Experience: 1-2 years of shipping & receiving experience preferred. Forklift experience is a plus. Skills: Strong computer skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail are essential.
