Job Discription
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Effective Administrative Management of the Home Human Resource Staff:
a. Day to day operations of the Home and the quality performance of the staff assigned to the Home.
b. Successful recruitment process for the Home. Accepts employment applications, interviews candidates, complete reference checks, and hire as needed. Prior to hire, Manager must review budget constraints.
2) Coach and Develop Home Staff.
a. Determine the strengths and development areas of the Home Staff
b. Responsible for the determining performance standards and goals, and performance reviews for Home Staff. Monitor performance of assigned Staff.
c. Responsible for developing a corrective strategy for those Staff not performing to an acceptable or better level. Manager will coordinate strategy with owner prior to discussion with Staff.
3) Responsible for providing safe and quality home environment of Home through quality assurance audits and training.
a. Develops the Resident Care Plans by working closely with the Leadership Team for the Home.
b. Participates in family social events.
c. Refers family and neighbor concerns that cannot be easily resolved, to the owner.
d. Coordinates the admission process of new residents into the Home with the Nurse.
e. Coordinates and completes weekly inventory of prescription medications and supplies with Nurse. Re-orders as necessary.
f. Audits medication sheets on the first of month, to determine if there were any errors. Coordinates additional training depending on the results of the audit.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
1) Bachelors degree in Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Health Care Administration, or related health care field, and/or a minimum of two to three years of related experience as a Home/Manager in a health care and/or assisted living Home.
2) A minimum of 2-3 years of previous experience as Supervisor of staff, with a demonstrated track record of management and team building skills.
3) Previous experience with bottom line responsibility, managing a small business or department budget preferred.
