SMV Recruiting is actively looking for a Sales and Marketing Manager to work in Syracuse, NY. Our client is a family own, multigenerational, manufacturer who is looking to expand their footprint. They are looking for an experienced Sales & Managing manager with a deep background working within the distribution industry. They sell primarily through Grainger, Fastenal, HD Suppl, MSC, so having a prior experience with these organizations is strongly desired. This role will be 65% sales and 35% marketing. It will report directly to the owner and will have a large impact on the business strategy and trajectory. Strong leadership, communication skills and a down-to-earth, easy-going personality is a must. FYI this is a direct hire role and offers full benefits.

Responsibilities:

• Design and execute strategic sales plans and forecasts to achieve set KPIs, goals and objectives
• Build and maintain relationships with current and new dealers/distributors
• Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners
• Direct sales forecasting activities and set performance goals and KPIs accordingly
• Direct staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop sales programs and meet KPIs
• Direct and coordinate sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals
• Represent company at trade association meetings and trade shows
• Review and analyze sales performances and present finds to senior leadership teams
• Develop and manage sales/marketing operating budgets
• Plan and oversee advertising and promotion activities including print, online, electronic media, and direct mail
• Develop and recommend product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share
• Evaluate market research and adjusts marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions by monitoring competitor products, sales, and marketing activities
• Establish and maintain a consistent company image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or a related field
• 8+ years of sales experience working with distributors (Grainger, Fastenal, HD Suppl, MSC, etc)
• Manufacturing experience strongly desired
• 2+ years of supervisory or management experience
• Demonstrated skill with in-depth sales and marketing techniques and financial principles
• Successful history of growing a book of business
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $105,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
