Job Title: Director of SEC Reporting & Compliance
Location: Navasota, Texas (On site required)
Reports to: Chief Accounting Officer
Position Summary
The Director of SEC and Statutory Reporting and Compliance leads the Company s SEC reporting and statutory and tax compliance reporting. This role requires a complex technical accounting and organizational structure reporting background and ability to work with internal and external constituents to evaluate the accounting for key issues impacting the business. This role will proactively manage the SEC reporting cycle monthly with a continuous improvement mindset, focused on timeliness and accuracy.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
Lead the implementation of the SEC reporting process as a key member of the Finance leadership team through strategic thinking and delivery of information, analysis of results, and recommendations to help build the team into a world class organization.
Ensure the Company’s compliance with SEC and banking relationship reporting requirements through reporting punctuality, completeness, and accuracy.
Coordinate delivery to Investor Relations and Corporate Accounting teams of key deliverables and audited financials, developed by working collaboratively with business partners.
Work with advisors in drafting responses to SEC comment letters, pre-clearance of technical issues and clearing proxy, proforma and disclosure requirements.
Develop and execute effective internal controls in relation to the SEC reporting process, playing a key role in disclosure committee processes, including meetings, certifications and resolution of matters identified.
Proactively research, analyze and benchmark the disclosures of peer companies, competitors, and emerging industry trends.
Lead the annual and quarterly financial and associated statutory audits with external auditors and senior management to ensure timely audits and necessary statutory filings.
Leads the implementation of required new accounting standards and disclosures.
Provide accounting considerations and contractual structuring research for strategic and non-recurring transactions and author and deliver all necessary accounting memos to support the Company s position in complex accounting positions and measurements.
Required Education & Experience
10+ years of experience, with combination of experience with a Big 4 public accounting and a public company.
Bachelors or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field of study.
CPA certification, active license status required.
Technical accounting background with a thorough knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting standards and familiarity with IFRS and SOX, as well as experience with technical research and preparation of accounting position papers and memos and responses to SEC comment letters.
Experience in oversight of technical accounting related to M&A activities, including purchase accounting and accounting policy alignment

Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, multi-task efficiently and manage individuals as direct reports as well as indirect support organizations.
Technical and tools
Demonstrated knowledge of various accounting software packages such as Oracle Publisher ( EPRCS – Enterprise Performance Reporting Cloud ) or similar environments such as Equity Edge, Workiva and Oracle FCCS ( Hyperion ).
Familiarity with SEC comment research tools to support peer reporting and position paper support.
Experience managing SEC and EDGAR reporting and interface with publishing tools with Donnelly or Thomson Reuters. Experience with SEC reporting tools and XBRL like Thompsons Reuters and Donnelly or equivalent publishing and compliance services.
Advanced Microsoft Office EXCEL, Word, and PowerPoint.
