The Agency for Persons with Disabilities works in partnership with local communities to support people with developmental disabilities in living, learning, and working in their communities. APD provides critical services and supports for customers with developmental disabilities to reach their full potential. The Agency serves people with spina bifida, autism, Down syndrome, children ages 3-5 at high risk of developmental disabilities, cerebral palsy, Prader-Willi syndrome, Phelan-McDermid syndrome, and intellectual disabilities. There is no charge or co-payment for services provided through the Agency.

Must have experience assisting with statewide projects and program(s) in the field of human services.
Must have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

DUTIES:
This is a highly responsible position within the Operations section of the Agency for Persons with Disabilities State Office whose role includes but is not limited to coordination of Transportation rate requests, Crisis Waiver Enrollment (CWE) quality assurance reviews, cost plan reviews, translation activities for the Agency according to policies and procedures.
Assists with the approval, development and revision of rules, policies and procedures related to Transportation services and rates. Provides technical assistance to Agency staff, providers and stakeholders related to transportation to ensure compliance with rules and operating procedures. Develops and updates training material as needed.
Conducts random quality assurance desk reviews of crisis decisions. Analyzes CWE data s and provides detailed analysis of findings to each Regional Operations Manager to identify trends. Ensures compliance with established rules and operating procedures and identify improvement opportunities. Assists with the provision of training, technical assistance to all Regions related to Crisis Waiver Enrollments (CWE).
Serves as the Agency’s liaison for translation vendor activities.
Conducts cost plan reviews to ensure compliance with State and Federal rules and procedures.
Coordinates and collaborates with other state agencies on special and other assignments.
Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
DIRECT DEPOSIT PROGRAM – As a condition of employment, a person appointed to a position in State government is required to participate in the Direct Deposit Program. Banks, savings and loan associations, and credit unions are eligible to accept such deposits. Retirement funds are also required to be in the Direct Deposit Program.
BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
No applicant for a designated position will be employed or permitted to volunteer until the Level 2 screening results are received, reviewed, and approved by the Agency.
