Job Summary
This position provides administrative support for the Health Commons at Pond, a free, school-based nurse run clinic located at the Bloomington School Early Childhood Development Family Center. This position serves the clinic clients and families and supports the nursing, speech hearing and rehabilitation, and social work faculty and students who provide services there.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of English sufficient to fluently speak, read, understand, and respond to a variety of written and spoken communications, such as customers’ questions, product catalogs, requisitions, purchase orders, detailed instructions and procedures, inventory records, and distribution lists.
Ability to use customer service skills on the phone, in person and on-line to provide effective general and specialized office support (this requires common courtesy, tact, interest in positive problem solving, empathy, and the ability to organize ideas logically).
Ability to listen to speakers’ statements to determine their meanings and to prepare Spanish/English translations that are adapted to each customer’s needs.
Ability to learn, understand, and apply medical terminology within three months of hire.

Knowledge of general office equipment and procedures such as basic math, typing, data entry and related functions.
