PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Teammate in this role is responsible for leading the recruit-to-hire process at the Perrysville, Ohio Manufacturing Plant. He/she will develop or implement recruiting strategies to meet current or anticipated staffing needs, identify and screen qualified candidates, make hiring decisions and ensure new hires are successfully on-boarded. S/he must work to understand the unique perspective of the target audience, and their wants, needs, and priorities, in order to improve talent and retention.
SPECIFIC DUTIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Develop or implement recruiting strategies to meet current or anticipated staffing needs. Effectively monitor staffing projections, turnover trends, and talent gaps.
Perform searches for qualified job candidates, using sources such as computer databases, networking, Internet recruiting resources, media advertisements, job fairs, recruiting firms, or employee referrals
Manage company recruitment social media platforms
Source, screen and interview candidates for open positions. Inform job applicants of details such as duties and responsibilities, compensation, benefits, schedules, working conditions, or promotion opportunities.
Select qualified job applicants and make the hiring decisions.
Conduct pre-employment background investigations, reference checks and coordinate drug tests; confirm that all candidates have completed steps of the hiring process before being extended an offer of employment.
Facilitate all on-boarding activities including facilitating New Hire Orientation.
Follow up regularly with new hires throughout the initial employment period.
Track and analyze turnover reasons and make proactive recommendations to improve retention; conduct exit interviews and surface themes to leadership.
Assume additional responsibilities and perform special projects as needed to support the business.
Comply with all federal, state and local employment laws.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field or equivalent experience prefered but not required
2 years of recruiting experience successfully managing multiple openings at a time. Previous manufacturing experience a plus.
Demonstrated ability to develop cooperative working relationships with others and maintain these relationships over time
Outstanding service orientation and customer focus
Strong personal accountability, organizational and tracking skills
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of employees
Knowledge of relevant employment laws
Kronos experience is a plus but not required
