Position Objective: The objective of this position is to ensure organizational effectiveness and continuity by implementing strategies and policies from The Coastal Companies (where able) to ensure consistency across companies. Oversee all HR related programs, policies, procedures and tasks. Oversee day-to-day operations of HR department.
The major responsibilities of this position include the following:
Partner with onsite managers, directors and above to understand business needs and provide related support
Provide support to Crew Members and managers with regard to employee relations, performance management, and policies and procedures
Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local laws from an employment perspective
Partner with CMS team at Coastal on benefits, payroll, compliance, etc.
Administer performance review process from beginning to end
Participate in all disciplinary actions to ensure consistency
Anticipate and resolve complex situations and problems in an equitable manner
Create and maintain org charts for the company
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration or related field
Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in HR
HR Certification
Must present a positive, professional and friendly demeanor at all times
Ability to exercise good judgment, discretion and confidentiality
Bilingual preferred – preferably Spanish and English
Thorough knowledge of labor laws and regulations
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – written and verbal
Highly organized and detail oriented; collaborative
Proficient with MS Office products
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Available occasionally for recruitment or company events outside normal work hours
Job Requirements – Ability to:
Sit, stand, walk and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone to talk and hear
Frequently sit and reach with hands and arms
Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds
Travel on a limited basis to other Sysco/FreshPoint facilities or operating companies
Utilize office equipment such as desktop/notebook computers, copiers, printers, scanners, telephones, and calculators
Function in a moderate noise level environment
Work in various indoor and outdoor climates
Must be:
18 years of age
Able to successfully pass a criminal background check
Ability to successfully pass drug test
Able to work 5-6 days a week, weekends and holidays occasionally
Able to work 8+ hours per day
