HR Manager-Northlake
Overview:The Plant Human Resource Manager is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource function in the plant. The Plant Human Resource Manager is a key business partner providing talent acquisition, development, alignment of talent and coaching at all levels of the plant. Assures alignment with the company’s HR policies, collective bargaining agreement, programs and procedures through coordination at the plant level, corporate offices and in conjunction with the Plant Manager and Human Resource Director.
Essential Job Duties:
Lead all talent acquisition activities including creating/updating job descriptions, posting of internal jobs (including bidding for union positions), tracking of bidding, external recruiting, interviewing, hiring and onboarding.
Drive performance management and help drive a culture of accountability at Northlake. This includes partnering with Northlake leadership on developing SMART goals, completion of performance reviews, training, development, and identifying and aligning talent for all positions supporting Operations at Northlake
Responsibility for all employee relations and labor relations initiatives. This includes driving an open-door culture, being an advocate for employees, attendance tracking, employee/labor relations related investigations, disciplinary action, grievances, CBA interpretation and policy development around areas where the CBA and Plant Rules and Regulations are silent.
Responsible for collaboration with plant leadership on employee health and safety programs/initiatives. This includes Worker’s Comp claims activity, safety committee partnership, behavior-based audits, goal-setting, tracking, recognition and successful completion of safety training initiatives each year.
Responsible for legal compliance including administering/tracking FMLA, ADA reasonable accommodation requests, reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing, harassment and discrimination complaints, compliance with local, State and Federal laws, labor law postings and keeping up on changing laws to ensure compliance.
Participates in site administrative tasks (e.g. payroll, benefits coordination, planning, budgeting, and data collection / reporting) as assigned.
Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources or Industrial Relations.
5+ years of progressive HR Generalist experience.
Must understand basic Labor Relations concepts, at least 1-2 years of HR leadership experience in a union environment.
Proven continuous improvement experience required.
Must have experience using Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint.
SHRM CP, SCP, PHR or SPHR preferred.
