Salary Grade: M – $85,000 – $141,086

About the Position
The Supervisor of Quality Analytics (Quality Initiatives) will be responsible for daily operation of quality improvement activities and supervision of quality initiatives staff. The incumbent will work under the direction of the Manager and in partnership with the Director and/or other department leadership to support department goals and program implementation. The incumbent will provide guidance to staff and directly handle the development and implementation of special projects, programs and initiatives related to quality improvement. The incumbent will serve as a resource for CalOptima Health providers, health networks and community partners.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Participates in a mission-driven culture of high-quality performance, with a member focus on customer service, consistency, dignity and accountability.
• Assists the team in carrying out department responsibilities and collaborates with others to support short- and long-term goals/priorities for the department.
• Oversees operational and logistical processes needed to achieve quality initiative goals.
• Collaborates with the Quality Analytics leadership to develop and implement quality improvement interventions in support of department initiatives.
• Supervises and evaluates the performance of quality initiatives staff.
• Assists in the hiring process and training of new quality initiatives staff.
• Provides staff guidance and support for the implementation of special projects and pilots.
• Develops work plans, budgets and oversees the execution, evaluation and reporting end-to-end on projects including not limited to member/provider surveys, focus groups and quality interventions.
• Develops, tracks and updates member and provider materials to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Oversees the development, management, implementation, and evaluation of quality initiatives, such as member incentive programs, provider education mailings and member reminders outreaches.
• Analyzes health care data to assess the quality implications for CalOptima Health’s programs.
• Assists with developing, documenting, implementing and updating policies and desktop procedures.
• Assists with assessment activities and other process improvement strategies to improve Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS), Managed Care Accountability Sets (MCAS), STARS and Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) scores.
• Represents the department in internal and external meetings.
• Completes other projects and duties as assigned.
Experience & Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Health or related field required.
• 3 years of experience in quality initiatives and quality improvement in HEDIS or STARS required.
• Experience with outreach and public speaking/public relations required.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the position such as those listed above is also qualifying.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Extensive experience working with health care delivery systems and/or in a public agency serving the related population, preferably in a capitation model.
• Supervisory/lead experience in quality improvement in a managed care setting.
• Project management experience.

• Physical demands: While performing duties of job, employee may be required to move about the organization. Employee must be able to sit for extended periods of time, as well as work at the computer for long periods. Employee is required to use hands and fingers, especially for typing on the computer and using the mouse. Must also be able to reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift heavy office supply boxes. Employee must occasionally move health education materials, boxes, and supplies, as well as transport materials in and out of offices for health fairs and community classes and events. Employee must be able to communicate, particularly for regular phone use, in meetings, face-to-face interaction and while presenting. Occasional travel to off-site locations.
• Work Environment: Typical office environment with minimal to moderate noise levels and controlled office temperatures.
