SUMMARY
This is a staff position responsible for assisting in reviewing, evaluating, and making recommendations for the correction and/or improvement of internal, operational, and management control systems and organizational unit performance.
Each auditor’s primary goals involves identifying deficiencies in compliance processes, working to rectify deficiencies, and improving and streamlining overall compliance. The nature of this position requires inside contact with company employees at all levels.
This is a full-time (Monday – Friday) On-Site position that is located at our headquarters office in Columbus, Ohio at 1100 Morse Road.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
• Assist in planning work on assigned segments of an audit.
• Assist in determining records or activities to analyze.
• Develop the creation and revamp of any auditing materials, including policies and procedures.
• Review transactions, documents, records, reports, and methods for accuracy and effectiveness.
• Prepare acceptable documentation that records and summarizes data on the assigned audit segment.
• Hold preliminary discussions of apparent deficiencies with operating personnel to verify and obtain explanations of and reasons for each apparent deficiency and document responses.
• Report audit findings and make recommendations for the correction of unsatisfactory conditions, improvements in operations, and/or reductions in cost.
• Follow-up with relevant leadership to facilitate corrections of identified deficiencies.
• Maintain organization and pay close attention to details.
• Meet expectations for attendance and punctuality.
• Assist in the performance of special reviews at the request of management.
• Assist in in-office and over phone training and development.
• Assist in special projects as needed by Office Services team.
• Adhere to auditing schedule to ensure each branch is audited twice annually.
• Work overtime as required.
• Performs other duties as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Strong analytical skills and an attention to detail.
• Ability to perform work with little or no supervision.
• Familiarity with standard auditing practices and procedures and the ability to apply them to each project assigned.
• Interpersonal skills including the ability to interview individuals associated with the subject of an audit.
• Ability to utilize resources available to complete assigned projects.
• Knowledgeable in the use of computers to document and record audit findings.
• Familiarity with overall company operations and an ability to understand correlations between internal operating departments.
• Associates degree or equivalent job experience preferred.
• Extensive experience with software programs such as Microsoft Office Suite environment, Excel, etc.
