Tarana Wireless, Inc Hiring for Government Affairs & Policy Associate at San Francisco Bay Area Full Time

Tarana Wireless is a next-generation Fixed Wireless Access company built by outstanding talented people and with innovative technology. The Government Affairs & Policy team at Tarana Wireless works cross-functionally with marketing, sales, and technical teams to advance policy goals and empower communities to bridge the digital divide. The position is at Tarana Wireless’ headquarters in Milpitas but may require travel within the state of California or other states, as needed.

The ideal candidate for the Government Affairs & Policy Associate is a recent college graduate (Graduate of an accredited college or university within the past 12 months) with a passion for government affairs, policy, politics and the community.

This entry level role will include government affairs, policy, politics, community affairs, writing, researching and public speaking.

Job Responsibilities:

• Track current and emerging political activity and policy developments at the local level in the Bay Area
• Support management and continued development of multi-state strategy working with customers and internal stakeholders
• Develop and maintain relationships with local officials, their staff, and other key external stakeholders.
• Represent Tarana Wireless publicly in front of elected officials, community groups and the stakeholder community
• Research and engage in policy issues that have a positive impact on bridging the digital divide, especially for unserved and underserved communities throughout the United States and around the globe
• Prepare written materials such as letters, briefing memos, reports and other documents to enhance Tarana’s mission

Required Skills and Experience:

• BS degree with Political Science or related discipline
• The ideal candidate has a passion for bridging the digital divide through policy solutions, government and community interaction and politics
• Related internships/projects around: Policy research and Analysis, Event and Stakeholder Management, Issue tracking and reporting.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and exceptional verbal and written communication skills

The salary target for this position is: $70,000

Compensation will be determined based on several factors including, but not limited to: skill set, years of experience and the employee’s geographic location.
