Scope of Position
The Manager, HR Business Partner is responsible for the efficient and effective delivery of HR services to the organization by providing an innovative approach to organizational challenges and the ability to translate strategy into operating results. Develop, implement, and drive the people strategy and agenda that meets the objectives and short-term strategic vision of the organization they support. Works closely with hospital and/or ambulatory leaders and their direct reports to provide a strategic support in order to address the core business needs and further enable the growth agenda for OSUWMC. Serves as a role model for staff, management and faculty across the department and business, consistently representing the standards of service excellence.
Position Summary
Assists in the development of people strategies and solutions that align with the business and operational goals of the assigned business units and/or functional areas. Responsible for translating the business goals and aligning with human resources goals and strategies. This position will support programs that identify and fulfill talent needs, talent integration and employee development to meet the overall HR strategy for the organization. Through partnerships, this position will help educate, advise and support leadership on issues involving, but not limited to employee relations, performance management, coaching, on-boarding, new hire orientation, organizational development and change management. Serves as an employee champion and communicates needs proactively with key stakeholders while having the ability to translate mid-range plans into operating results.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Human Resources is preferred or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 6+ years’ experience in Human Resources.
Understanding of Ohio and Federal employments laws, reducing risk and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Demonstrated ability to build relationships and establish ‘quick’ rapport with all levels of the organization.
Strong consultative style with proven experience supporting multiple areas.
Strong mind-set for continuous improvement and meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
Desired Education and Experience:
PHR/SPHR or other professional certification preferred.
