We are looking for a Regional Human Resources Manager who will join our HR Supply Chain team. This position will be a hybrid role with 50% of the week at our Temecula, CA operations and 50% remote. You will support multiple locations, which will include overnight travel, around 25% of the time. Ideally, our candidate would be bilingual – English and Spanish speaking.

Scotts Miracle-Gro is looking for a Regional Human Resource Manager to help support our Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Distribution facilities in North America. If you were selected for this role, you would support 10+ facilities by developing/leading broad associate development/retention initiatives, managing employee relation issues/investigations and answering day to day questions. You would support three business units- Hawthorne, Growing Media and LGOR. Process improvement is also critical as our business grows and continues to integrate and being able to partner with leadership and the business will be key. • Be the face of HR to your business groups and facilities, providing the highest level of business partnership and company stewardship

• Engage leaders at all levels through projects and day to day support

• A strategic and tactical contributor by delivering comprehensive, practical human resource solutions to the managers and associates
• A talent scout- identifying opportunities to upgrade our talent, both internally and externally; communicating and training leaders on appropriate talent development techniques and forums.
• An ambassador of our culture- inspiring all to bring their best daily and living/leading our values.
• An experienced HR professional- ideally with 5 years of experience in an HR Generalist type role and a Bachelor’s degree. Certifications are a plus as they are achieved based on training and experience.
• Curious- demonstrating an innate desire to learn how things work and how things can be improved.
• Energized by high change environments and is comfortable with ambiguity.
• A problem solver- using creative avenues to solve problems, demonstrating both breadth and depth; demonstrating strong judgment and proven ability to diagnose issues, drawing on both professional experience and strategic thinking skills to drive appropriate solutions with self-initiative.

Experience with:

• Supporting multiple supply chain, manufacturing, and/or distribution sites in different geographies and know that not every work environment or culture is the same. Since most of your facilities will be remote, you will have built relationships through travel and remote interactions.
• Experience with a supply chain, manufacturing, and/or distribution environment. You must understand the priorities and experience of the front-line associate and can speak the language of the factory or warehouse floor. Safety, efficiency, employee relations and engagement are second nature as well as providing sound advice and counsel to front-line leaders.
• A matrixed HR support model (centers of excellence – compensation, payroll, talent management, talent acquisition, shared services, etc.) Have worked closely with the HR leadership and corporate HR on the business’ needs and support them by driving the implementation of compensation programs, benefits, talent management/acquisition and other needed programs.
• Extensive Employee Relations experience/expertise (i.e. leading investigations from investigation to conclusion, coaching Leaders at all levels with regards to feedback/development, managing EEOC claims, leading conflict resolution)
• Talent management / talent planning – upgrading talent through workforce planning and working with newer managers
• Have supported front-line associates, managers, executives, etc.
• Have supported operations in California and demonstrates strong knowledge of California Employment practices

The starting budgeted pay range for this role will generally fall between $113,100.00 – $133,100.00 per year. Scotts will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.
