The Chief Development Officer (CDO) serves as an executive team member who will be responsible for helping to build and execute strategy and ensure the longevity of our organization. This role will design and implement forward-leaning strategies to steward new donors and continue to sustain and grow the organization’s $3M budget through innovative channels, including institutional gifts, individual giving, major donors, events, and corporate support.
Serving as a key representative for our organization, the CDO will be responsible for stewarding current partners, understanding both their philanthropic goals & history with our client, and cultivating longer-term relationships that grow over time. They will also proactively identify and develop new national and local philanthropic donors to promote long-term organizational sustainability.
The ideal candidate is an innovative, results-oriented leader with exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to influence. He/She/They believes deeply in our client’s mission and can serve as an authentic storyteller and relationship builder to enhance our client’s visibility, impact, and sustainability.
*Primarily remote, requires a minimum of 2 days a week in DC*
