Job Type: Full Time

THIRA Health seeks a full-time, onsite Prep Cook to help prepare meals for our patients. This position demands an effective level of culinary competency with basic knife skills, culinary skills, and knowledge of the operation of all kitchen equipment. The employee will be responsible for all prep work of the food being prepared as well as some dishwashing. The employee is expected to work as part of a team, while also functioning as a self-driven component of the kitchen operation.

Job Duties

• Duties will include making sandwiches, marinades, salads, desserts, dressings, and cutting vegetables.
• Stock and rotate produced products
• Be able to multi-task and be flexible with teammates
• Know how to use recipes and scales
• Help with dishes as needed

Requirements

• Previous cooking and prep/knife skills are preferred
• Possess a friendly outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates.
• Follow food and physical safety, maintenance and equipment/space cleaning, requirements at all time.
• Prepare food items, ensuring consistency and compliance with the THIRA recipes, portioning, cooking, and waste control guidelines.
• Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
• Excellent knife skills
• Attention to detail, cleanliness
• Positive attitude, this is a customer service position and interacting with customers requires friendliness and outgoing personality
• Have valid food handlers permit

Our Chief Finance & Operations Officer, David Krekel-Zoppi, came to THIRA after nearly a decade at Virginia Mason Medical Center and more recently having managed business and operations with Dr. Mehri Moore at The Moore Center.
